Spiritual Life and Worship Committee Mission Statement
"This committee
supports the prayer life of the people by attending to the celebration of the
Eucharist and providing prayer opportunities for the members of the
parish. The sharing of the Eucharist is at the very heart of each
parish. Other spiritual activities, (prayer groups, small faith
communities, etc) naturally flow from the celebration of the
Eucharist."
The above statement was
written in 1997. Since then the scope of the committee's activities has
broadened considerably. The Spiritual Life and Worship team provides
family and personal spiritual growth opportunities during the Advent and Lenten
seasons; supplies age and liturgical season appropriate reading material for the
magazine racks; evening vespers, Corpus Christi and Holy Rosary processions, in
addition to supply material for faith-sharing and study groups and assisting in
the funding of young adult activities. In the year 2002 the Spiritual Life
and Worship Committee will be sponsoring the "Called and Gifted"
program presented by the Catherine of Siena Institute.
This is a working committee
and we are always looking for new members, parishioners who want to actively
live their faith by getting involved in parish spiritual growth
activities. If you are interested, please contact Martha O'Connor at
551-0333.
