Nazareth Groups

Each Nazareth small group will focus on praying with Scripture and growing in community.

Nazareth’s aim is to provide opportunities to experience fun small Christian communities - home groups - in which the participants get to know each other both as fellow human beings and as brothers and sisters in the Lord. The Nazareth evening includes time for welcoming, “check-in” and fun icebreakers. The icebreaker questions help members to get to know one another as they recognize what makes every member unique and lovable.

To facilitate a deeper walk with the Lord there is time for prayer; Lectio Divina is a time for the reading of the upcoming Sunday Mass scripture followed by sharing how the Word of God speaks to each individual. The evening ends with offering personal thanksgiving and petition. The round-robin format of the majority of the evening ensures that each person, shy or talkative, has a chance to share. With the “no cross-talk” guideline, the sharing's do not evolve into discussion, a therapy session, or an advice and feedback forum. There is also the “pass” option so there is no pressure, sharing is welcomed but not forced. It's also a great way to make new Cathedral friends!
