Our Cathedral is the symbolic home, heart, and foundation of the Omaha Archdiocese.  Our church is a landmark for our city, both day and night. It is a gathering place for faith and culture, for learning and for service. It is a testimonial to generations of faith-filled people and it is an anticipation for the future that will receive the legacy of faith from today's generation. As a Roman Catholic parish, we welcome people of diverse backgrounds into a worshiping, ministering community and graciously accept our leadership role in the Archdiocese and in the community.

Today, the Cathedral parish consists of over 880 households and the school consists of 250+ Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight children, with families from within our designated parish boundaries as well as from across the larger metropolitan area. As the church of the archbishop's chair, the Cathedral is the location of all the major feasts involving the Archbishop - ordinations of deacons and priests, commissioning of lay ministers, and special occasions within the Archdiocese. It is also an everyday, busy parish.

The heart of Saint Cecilia Cathedral is the people. Every person in this diverse and interesting parish is invited to become a part of the life of our parish through ministries activities, and committees. We equip disciples! It is through the Gospel that we are continually reminded that every baptized person has a special role in their faith community. There is a parish ministry or activity where your time and talents will make a difference.
